Principal's Weekly Message - 12/16/2019

Greetings,

This is Ian Solomon, Principal of Leesville Road High School sharing the latest news and upcoming events.

Pride Football

Congratulations to the Leesville Road Varsity football team’s successful football season. The Pride finished the season 13-1 as the 4AA state runners-up. A job well-done.

PSAT and PreACT Scores

Scores will be distributed to students this week. The PreACT scores come with a booklet on how to review and interpret student scores and set up an ACT account. This is an important resource along with the ACT Academy. The PSAT score report also contains information on links students can visit t interpret their scores and set up a College Board Account. Students and parents with questions may contact their assigned counselor.

Transcript and College Application Requests

Transcript and College Application requests are not reviewed over the winter break. They will not be processed until January 6, 2020. Seniors were made aware of this in the December Scholarship Bulletin and asked to submit requests no later than December 13.

December Scholarship Bulletin (repeat)

The December Scholarship Bulletin is posted on the school’s home page under the Pride News section. All college bound seniors should take advantage of this important resource.

Semester Exam Schedules (repeat)

Fall and Spring semester final exam schedules are available for view under the Pride News section of the school’s website. The following link will also provide you access: https://www.wcpss.net/domain/16287

Lunch Reminders (repeat)

I want to remind students who leave campus for lunch that behavioral expectations still apply while off-campus. If you are a student who leaves campus during lunch and you are walking it is important that you respect the property of homeowners and not trespass as you are going to your destination. You are also reminded that you must have a valid lunch pass to leave campus for lunch. I want to also take the opportunity to make sure parents and students alike are aware that orders from Grubhub, UberEats, etc. are not allowed during lunch time on campus. Parents are free to drop lunch off for students as always.

Thank you for your continued support of Leesville Road High School, where we take PRIDE in everything we do.
