We're committed to keeping you informed and engaged in your child's educational journey. Here are the latest updates and a message from Dr. Baggio:

Dear FPDE Families,

I hope you had an amazing week. Thank you all for participating in our Black History Month Dress-Up days. This week grades 3rd and 4th completed their Math NC check-ins. I am so proud of our students for taking the tests seriously and trying their best. Next week we will celebrate Read Across America Week with dress-up days and a writing competition. Please read the important information below.

Career Day Volunteers Needed

FPDE Career Day! 

We are happy to announce that we are seeking volunteers for our Career Day on March 26 from 9:30 to 1:30. This is a great opportunity to connect with our school and show our students the many possibilities they have for careers! All volunteers will also receive lunch! If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please complete this form or reach out to Ms. Candotti (ccandotti@wcpss.net) or Ms. Kopec (jkopec@wcpss.net) no later than Feb. 21. Read Across America Week

Please join FPDE in celebrating by participating in next week’s school dress-up days and a school-wide writing competition. We are asking for students to submit a narrative story by March 7th. The students will need to attach the cover page linked here to their submissions. This paperwork will also go home tomorrow, Friday February 28th. There will be awards presented to students in K-2 and 3-5. Student Council and a panel of staff will judge the submissions and we will announce the students earning recognition for their stories on Friday, March 14th. We look forward to reading the amazing stories!

Monday March 3- Cat in the Hat Day- Wear Red and White or stripes

Tuesday March 4- Green Eggs and Ham Day- Wear Green

Wednesday March 5- Lorax Day- Wear Orange (Drop Everything and Read Day)- from 9:15-9:30 all students will drop everything and read. Please send your child with a book of their choice

Thursday-LLama Llama Red Pajama Day- Students and staff wear pajamas to school day

Friday-Wear FPDE gear to show our love for reading

5th Grade Parent Volunteers Needed

The 5th Grade Art Legacy Project has been rescheduled to March 17-20th.

Wakefield For Good 2025 Food Drive

This year, our PTA will be participating in the Wakefield for good canned food drive.  The backpack buddies program will be one of the beneficiaries for this food drive. We will be collecting food the week of February 24th through the 28th. Please plan on sending in non-perishable food items that week with your student to drop off at the office.  A flyer with more information on requested items will go home soon.  Thank you so much for helping our students and community!

Información Importante para nuestras FAMILIAS FOX

Estamos comprometidos a mantenerlo informado y comprometido en el viaje educativo de su hijo. Aquí están las últimas actualizaciones y un mensaje del Dr. Baggio:

Queridas familias de la FPDE,

Espero que hayas tenido una semana increíble. Gracias a todos por participar en nuestros días de disfraces del Mes de la Historia Afroamericana. Esta semana, los grados 3 y 4 completaron sus controles de Matemáticas NC. Estoy muy orgulloso de nuestros estudiantes por tomarse los exámenes en serio y hacer lo mejor que pueden. La próxima semana celebraremos la Semana de Lectura en Todo Estados Unidos con días de disfraces y un concurso de escritura. Por favor lea la información importante a continuación.

Nos complace anunciar que estamos buscando voluntarios para nuestro Día de la Carrera el 26 de marzo de 9:30 a 1:30. ¡Esta es una gran oportunidad para conectarse con nuestra escuela y mostrarles a nuestros estudiantes las muchas posibilidades que tienen para carreras! ¡Todos los voluntarios también recibirán almuerzo! Encuesta de distrito de WCPSS sobre teléfonos celulares

Encuesta sobre dispositivos electrónicos en las escuelas se compartirá con el personal y la comunidad
Se invita a las familias a compartir sus puntos de vista sobre los teléfonos celulares y otros dispositivos electrónicos en las escuelas. Si está interesado en compartir su opinión, complete la encuesta a continuación.

Semana de lectura en todo Estados Unidos

Únase a la celebración de la FPDE participando en los días de disfraces escolares de la próxima semana y en un concurso de escritura para toda la escuela. Estamos pidiendo a los estudiantes que envíen una historia narrativa antes del 7 de marzo. Los estudiantes deberán adjuntar la portada vinculada aquí a sus presentaciones. Este trámite también se enviará a casa mañana viernes 28 de febrero. Se entregarán premios a los estudiantes de K-2 y 3-5. El Consejo Estudiantil y un panel de personal juzgarán las presentaciones y anunciaremos los estudiantes que obtendrán reconocimiento por sus historias el viernes 14 de marzo. ¡Esperamos leer las increíbles historias!

Lunes 3 de marzo: Día del Gato con Sombrero: viste de rojo y blanco o a rayas

Martes 4 de marzo: Día de los huevos verdes y el jamón: vístase de verde

Miércoles 5 de marzo - Día de Lorax - Vístase de naranja (Día de dejar todo y leer) - de 9:15 a 9:30 todos los estudiantes dejarán todo y leerán. Por favor envíe a su hijo un libro de su elección.

Jueves: Día del Pijama Rojo LLama Llama: los estudiantes y el personal usan pijamas para el día escolar

Viernes: use equipo FPDE para mostrar nuestro amor por la lectura

Se necesitan padres voluntarios de quinto grado

El Proyecto Legado de Arte de quinto grado ha sido reprogramado del 17 al 20 de marzo.

Wakefield For Good 2025 Colecta de alimentos

Este año, nuestra PTA participará en la colecta de alimentos enlatados de Wakefield for Good.  El programa Backpack Buddies será uno de los beneficiarios de esta colecta de alimentos. Estaremos recolectando comida la semana del 24 al 28 de febrero. Por favor planee enviar alimentos no perecederos esa semana con su estudiante para dejarlos en la oficina.  Pronto se enviará a casa un folleto con más información sobre los artículos solicitados.  Muchas gracias por ayudar a nuestros estudiantes y comunidad.!
