The West Cary Business Alliance
The Business Alliance is a collaborative partnership between business leaders throughout the community and educators at our area middle schools and high schools. The mission of the business alliance is to provide support and workplace realities for teachers and students and to be catalysts for engaging business and community organizations to prepare all students to be career-focused and globally competitive. The career and life expertise of business leaders provides students with the relevancy between education and future careers. School-based business alliances meet periodically throughout the year to develop action steps towards meeting the goals aligned with School Improvement Plans.
The West Cary Business Alliance seeks to link the resources of community stakeholders to enhance the School-to-Career transition of every student, as they become responsible, productive citizens and leaders within the community.Participating Schools:

Events may include:
- Financial Simulation Activity - Teach students the financial skills needed to manage their lives successfully
- Career Conversations – Speak with students about your career
- Soft Skills Training- Help train students in essential communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
- Career Fair- Represent your profession at the career fair
- Resume Reviews - Meet with students and/or classes to give a short presentation on resume development and review resumes
- Mock Interviews- Provide practice interview sessions for students
- Job Shadowing opportunities for students -2-3 hours, short visits to your workplace by a student
- Internships – In-depth work with a student to introduce them to your career. (120-hour participation)
- Entrepreneurship Mentoring- working with students to help them better understand the principles and practices of entrepreneurship
