Meet Your Counselor
Hi! I've been a school counselor for 15+ years and, while I've been a counselor in elementary, middle and high school, I have a special love for middle school students. So much growth happens in middle school and I enjoy helping student navigate through the exciting waters of these three years. I have two boys of my own and appreciate seeing the school journey from the counseling perspective, as well as, the parent perspective.
I graduated from James Madison University with my Bachelor's degree and George Mason University with my Master's degree in school counseling and have been a counselor ever since. From walking wide eyed kindergartners to class to calling my students' names as they walked across the stage for graduation, I have done it all. One of the most exciting things about being a counselor is that you never know what your day is going to bring you!
Whether it's hiking, camping, walking my dogs, or just laying in my hammock - I love being outside. One of my favorite activities is sitting on the front porch on a nice evening either reading a book or conversing with friends and neighbors. I love both the mountains and the beach so N.C. is a perfect place to live. I enjoy taking pictures, traveling, and meeting new people.
