Hello Unicorn Families! I am Mrs. Jarrett and I am a native of Raleigh! Prior to coming to North Ridge, I taught for 11 years in other Wake County schools. I am so proud to be a part of the NRE family! I earned my teaching degree from UNC-Wilmington and my Master’s Degree in Reading from Grand Canyon University. I am also a National Board Certified teacher and a certified Mentor for Beginning Teachers in Wake County.

On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, going to UNC football games and traveling. I look forward to getting to know each of the fourth graders this school year as we work together to help our scholars on all of their learning endeavors. My goal as a fourth-grade teacher is to prepare our students for middle school. I will focus on self-confidence, organizational skills, and time management. Please remember that “Communication is one of the many keys to success,” so if you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at mjarrett2@wcpss.net.

Hello! My name is Joanne Londe. I joined the North Ridge third grade team in 2007 after moving from California where I had been a third-grade teacher for 8 years. Originally I am from England, and although I’ve been in the U.S. for over 20 years now, you might still detect a slight accent! I graduated from Nottingham University with a B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics. How I ended up teaching fourth grade is a long story (involving a stint in South Korea working as a teacher’s aide and teaching English) but it was definitely a great career choice!

As a teacher I believe that I have the most rewarding and interesting job possible. Every day is different, bringing with it new successes and challenges. I look upon my students as individuals, each with their own special qualities and all with the potential to shine. In our class we work hard to create an environment that is happy and safe where everyone can learn.

Outside of school, my family keep me very busy. I am happily married to David, a high school social studies teacher. We have two wonderful children, Rachael and Nathan who were students here at North Ridge, but have now moved on to middle and high school. We try to spend as much time outdoors together as possible; bike riding and running along the Neuse River Trail, and camping at Falls Lake. We also enjoy reading, watching movies and playing a great Lord of the Rings card game!

Hello! My name is Keiran McClarren. This is my 7th year teaching. Where has the time gone? I graduated from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania in 2011. After I graduated, I moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia where I taught 3rd grade for 2 years. I decided to move to Raleigh because I wanted to live in a city. Raleigh is now my home. In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends, go for walks, and try new restaurants. I also love decorating my house. I spend a lot of my free time traveling. I believe there is so much of the world to see than to stay in one place. I like to escape to the beach whenever I can!

Hi! I am Mrs. Moniz. I taught Kindergarten at North Ridge Elementary from 2004 until 2016. I am presently teaching fourth grade at North Ridge. I taught third and fourth grade in the Fairfax County Public School System prior to this. I graduated with honors from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia with a BA in Elementary Education and endorsements in middle school Science and Math.

My husband and I have two children, Amanda and Michael. Amanda graduated from NC State in May of 2013 and taught middle school until this year. Currently Amanda is a stay at home mother of 2 sons, Parker age 6 and Owen age 4 months. Our son Michael graduated from Millbrook High School in June of 2013 and is pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician and currently performs as lead guitarist with several bands around the state. My husband and I have lived in Raleigh since 1994. Together we love to bowl and at the present time bowl in a league. We love animals and currently have three dogs, one cat and two birds. In my spare time, in addition to bowling, I enjoy walking, reading, doing puzzles, and most of all being with my family. I am thrilled to be among such a wonderful group of teachers here at North Ridge Elementary.
