Hi! My name is Morgan Classen. I am excited to join the North Ridge family as a second grade teacher!

I was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC. During my childhood, I was very involved in academics and athletics. I played softball and volleyball. I love North Carolina and enjoy being close to home! I attended college at East Carolina University where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Child Studies.

This year marks my tenth year of teaching! Prior to joining North Ridge, I spent three years teaching second grade at Brier Creek Elementary School here in Wake County. I also spent four years teaching first grade in Cumberland County and two years teaching first grade in Forsyth County.

Outside of school, I enjoy going to the beach, hiking, snowboarding, and spending time with my family. My husband, Jamie, and I have a sweet baby girl named Camille and a spunky dog named Zooey. I am looking forward to the start of a new school year and I’m so happy to be a Unicorn!

Hi, I’m Ashlee Little, a second grade teacher at North Ridge Elementary! I’m so excited to be a Unicorn! Born and raised in Raleigh, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Meredith College. I received my undergraduate degree in Communications from Appalachian State University.

Before joining the North Ridge team, I worked as a project manager in the technology industry for nearly a decade. Because of that experience, I have a passion for integrating technology into our classroom in meaningful ways. I aim to create a classroom community that allows my students to feel safe, accepted, and loved.

When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my rescue dog, Bugle the beagle.

Hi North Ridge Families! My name is Lauren Philbeck Spangler. I am originally from the small town of Shelby, North Carolina, but have called Raleigh my home for over 13 years now. I also consider North Ridge to be my home as I have been a proud unicorn for more than 9 years.

I graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Mass Communication, a minor in Professional Writing, and my K-6 Teaching License. I then attended NC State University where I earned my Masters of Education in Instructional Technology.

My husband, Stephen, and I were married in May of 2017. In our free time we enjoy hanging out with our friends. trying new foods, watching sports, and traveling to Myrtle Beach and New Orleans where some of our family lives.

In my classroom I have high expectations of all my students. We work hard and learn a lot, but I also ensure that my students know they are cared about. I feel like it is very important to create an environment where students feel safe, know they're loved, and treat others with kindness.
