At Wilburn all classroom teachers provide in- class differentiation for all of their students. This differentiation is designed to meet the needs of each individual learner. When it comes to our highly capable students who may need additional support we provide the following enrichment programs:
BOOST - Intervention in the form of enrichment in the areas of Math and/or ELA. These groups are flexible.
Explorers - Intervention in the form of enrichment in the areas of Math and ELA in grade 3. These groups are flexible.
AIG - Direct instruction for students who have been identified as AIG in Math and/or ELA. This is provided once a week for 45 minutes. AIG is primarily in grades 4-5, but students can be identified in any grade. We do have AIG students in K-2. These groups are for AIG identified students only.
SSA (Single Subject Acceleration) - SSA is offered to all students who qualify. Any student can be nominated and tested during the assigned windows. Testing only occurs once a year. SSA is not an AIG service. It is provided by the county and is separate from AIG. Please go to the SSA tab at the top of this page for the most complete information regarding SSA.
