Dr. Janice Stowell, CCR Teacher

I began teaching for Wake County Public Schools in 2012 and recently taught at a global magnet-themed school focused on Sustainable Development Goals. I find time to read daily; informational text is my favorite genre, especially STEM. Also, I am married to a chemist, and we are both passionate about science! We have two daughters, born and raised in Wilmington, NC, who are in college. A couple of special facts about me: (1) I am a Wolfpack fan, and (2) I volunteer with a local animal rescue organization after adopting three dogs: Maggie, Heywood, and Hildy.
It is exciting to join Lincoln Heights to teach little Tigers!

Ms. Handy, CCR Instructional Assistant

Hi, my name is Erika Handy. I am a native of western NC. I moved to Virginia in 1999 to attend Old Dominion University where I studied dance. At that time, I met my husband and we are about to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We relocated to Raleigh, NC in 2006 and have owned a home in Fuquay since 2007. We have a daughter who attends LHES and this past June we adopted a Labradoodle puppy. I love spending time with my family, traveling, tap dancing, working in my yard, and watching football and basketball.  This will be my second year at LHES. I am looking forward to my new role as 2nd Grade IA and working with this amazing staff.

Ms. Pahl, CCR Teacher

Hi, my name is Emily Pahl, and I’m excited to be joining the Lincoln Heights team as a CCR teacher. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and began teaching about 19 years ago. Over the years, I’ve spent more than a decade in the classroom, with some time away to raise our three boys. Most recently, I was part of the CCR department at Middle Creek Elementary, where I supported students in a variety of roles. When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my family and enjoying creative hobbies like making stained glass. I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and working together to support our students.
