ILC
What?
As a Wake Tech student, you have access to the free tutorial services of the Individualized Learning Center (ILC). You will find professionally prepared staff who will assist you through one on one tutoring, a collection of audio and video tutorials, and a wide variety of course related printed materials. In addition, check out the workshops and small group activities especially tailored for your classes. If you are a student attending traditional seated courses seeking assistance in person, the Writing Center, Math Center, Computer Center and Study Skills Center are all here for you. In addition, there are a variety of online services available for Distance Education students. Many of our services do not require appointments.Where?

REAL Center
What?
The REAL Center is designed to assist students in curriculum-level English courses who need extra help with writing assignments and/or understanding course concepts for their English classes; any issues related to Rhetoric, Exposition, Argumentation, and Literature can be addressed in the REAL Center. English professors and instructors in the REAL Center provide students with help understanding assignments, brainstorming, developing ideas, following MLA documentation rules, and more. The Virtual REAL Center offers Blackboard-based resources, such as grammar and MLA “hotlines” for quick questions, virtual tutoring via email submission and feedback, and real-time tutoring via Skype. Students who attend the REAL Center have experienced significantly higher success rates in their English classes than those who did not. Students enrolled in an online curriculum-level English course are automatically granted access to the VIRTUAL.REAL.CENTER Blackboard shell, which contains details about how to use these services.Where?

The WTCC SPEAK Center (Speech Preparation Essentials and Knowledge) is a new, free tutoring service available to all students seeking assistance in the creation and delivery of an effective oral presentation. Available on Main and Northern Wake campuses, SPEAK Center tutors specialize in enhancing student confidence and skill in the area of public speaking. Only walk-in appointments will be taken.
