Hi! My name is Cindi Parker and I am the Physical Education teacher for Yates Mill.... LUCKY ME!! The kids frequently ask if I have always wanted to be a PE teacher and the answer is YES, since I was in 4th grade! Why not? Physical Education makes your HEART race!!
I graduated with my undergraduate degree from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College), and graduated with a Masters degree from East Carolina University (home of the PURPLE and GOLD). I have been teaching in some capacity since graduating in 1982 and have loved every minute of it.
I have an amazing family: rockstar husband David, son, Alex (28), a Navy JAG headed to Chicago, IL for his second tour and daughter, Tyler (23), an ECU alumni pursuing her Masters in Higher Education at USC. Yelling “Go Gamecocks!” will be hard for this Pirate loving family! Our 4-legged babies are our precious white lab, Beau- as in Lambeau Field- for our Greenbay Packers, and our rescue sweet Nellie, a precious mix of sweetness! I LOVE to spend time with my family and friends, walk, play pickleball and love my church.
In Physical Education, students K-5 will work on 4 different components: health/fitness, motor skills, motor concepts and person/social skills. We love to move, collaborate and "coach" each other whenever we can! I hope to instill the love of lifelong fitness with our kids. We have Physical Education once a week for 45 mins. and love when our parents come in to play with us- please join us whenever you can!
CHEERS! to an amazing school year, please don't hesitate to reach out for any questions/concerns.
