• The Journalism Club is open to fourth and fifth graders who have a passion for writing. In this club, we will learn about news writing, photography and how to ask interview questions, and we will write and write and write some more!

We will produce several newspapers throughout the year.

The Journalism Club meets in the Media Center on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. Your students are welcome to come during their trackout, but it's not a requirement. You can find our meeting schedule here.

Mrs. Sandoval

Hello! I'm so excited about working with your students!

I discovered my passion for writing at an early age - earlier than formal writing opportunities were available. So I started this club with students like me in mind; kids who love to write, but don't yet have a structured outlet for their passion.

I graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, and prior to having my daughter, I worked in public relations. I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in strategic communication from East Carolina University (See? I still love to write!).
