EOG/EOC End of Year Testing continues on Monday, June 7.  The testing schedule is available here.  As a reminder we are not permitted to interrupt the testing setting and are not able to check any students out until the school-wide testing session concludes.  Additionally, FitBits and SmartWatches are not permitted in the testing session. Please have students leave those items at home.   We anticipate the school-wide testing session to conclude by 12:00noon daily but cannot guarantee that.

On Monday, students will attend 5A, 3A, 1A, 2A after the testing session concludes.

Make up testing is scheduled for June 8 and June 9.  We hope to run a regular bell schedule on these days but it will depend on staff needed to administer make up tests.

Hotspots and ELA novels must be turned in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to the main office.  Novels are already past due and hotspots are due this week.  The main office is open from 7:30 – 4:00 to turn in these items.

Carpool Loop is closed on Thursday from 8:30 – 2:00 for the Year 3/8th Grade Drive Through Promotion event.  Parents needing to access the main office on Thursday should park in the bus parking lot and walk up to the main office.

8th Grade Promotion Event  With the help of our marvelous PTA we are planning a drive through promotion event for our soon-to-be high school freshmen!

On Thursday, June 10, families can drive through the main carpool with their student, take pictures in front of the balloon arch and be cheered and greeted by the Year 3 teachers and the administrative team.  Carpool will be closed to through traffic that day after 8:30am to accommodate this event for our soon-to-be high school freshmen.

To help with traffic flow and reduce wait times:

Families with last names A – L        8:30am – 10:30am

Families with last names M – Z       10:30am – 12:30pm

Any family                                      12:30pm – 2:00pm

The event will end at 2:00pm but we will leave the arch up for families that would like to come after carpool ends to take additional pictures.  Afternoon picture opportunities begin at 3:45pm.

On June 9, Year 3 will have a class meeting at 10:30am.  Year 3 students who are in the Virtual Academy are invited to attend this meeting, though it is not required.  If your Year 3 student will attend the class meeting, parents must drop them off at 10:15am in carpool and pick them up at 11:45am in carpool.

Also, we are seeking donations of small bottles of water for Year 3 students.  If you can donate, please drop them off at the main office on Monday.

Band and Orchestra Instrument Return Instruments are now PAST DUE for return.  If you have a school owned musical instrument, it should be returned to school immediately.

For Rising Year 2:   NC State Law mandates that all rising 7th graders have their TDAP and Meningococcal vaccines.  Please return immunization records showing TDAP and Meningococcal vaccines before school begins in August.  Immunization records may be emailed to Ms. Dixon at ladixon@wcpss.net.

Report Cards will be mailed from central office the week of June 17.  Parents may also check PowerSchool after June 10 to see final course grades.

Yearbooks have not arrived on campus.  When they arrive, we will send out a voice message, email message and text message to families for pick up.  Contact Ms. Youth (cyouth@wcpss.net) if you have questions.
