Wednesday, May 26 is an asynchronous day.  All students will be learning from home. Assignments will be posted by 8:15am.

EOG/EOC End of Year Testing begins on May 27.  The testing schedule is available here.  As a reminder we are not permitted to interrupt the testing setting and are not able to check any students out until the school-wide testing session concludes.  Additionally, FitBits and SmartWatches are not permitted in the testing session.  We anticipate the school-wide testing session to conclude by 12:30pm daily but cannot guarantee that. Please have students leave those items at home.

On Thursday, students will report to the following classes after testing:  3A, 4A, 1A, 2A.

On Friday, students will report to the following classes after testing:  4B, 5B, 1B, 6B.

Band and Orchestra Instrument Return All in-person students who are using a school owned instrument (and book, if provided) should plan to return the instrument and book to school on May 24 (A day students) or 25 (B day students). All virtual academy students should return their instruments and books to the main office between May 24 and June 4.  The main office is open from 7:30am – 4:00pm.

8th Grade Promotion Event  With the help of our marvelous PTA we are planning a drive through promotion event for our soon-to-be high school freshmen!  Information was sent to 8th grade families on Friday.

Congratulations to Natalie Schoeny who was recognized by Wake County PTA Council as a PTA Star for her volunteer efforts at West Millbrook!  We appreciate you Natalie.

2021-22 PTA Board Last Tuesday, the West Millbrook PTA elected the following board members for the 2021-22 school year:

Natalie Schoeny – President

Jodi Bulmer – Vice President

Kathy Parzygnat – Secretary

Cheri Thomas – Treasurer

I’d like to offer a huge THANK YOU to the 2020-21 PTA Board President Ryan Ramey, Vice Presidents Heather Milne and Jeana Ellis, Secretary Natalie Schoeny and Treasurer Jenny McClendon.  This board has worked with me to navigate pandemic school and to support students and teachers in the most unusual circumstances.  They have supported food drives for our families, sold spirit wear to promote school unity and spirit, organized teacher and staff appreciation events, supported our magnet programming, provided teacher curriculum assistance funding and teacher grants, and even scheduled cultural arts (virtually) to provide opportunities for students.  I’ve missed your constant physical presence on campus this year, but your virtual presence (and support) were certainly felt.  Thank you for leading!

End of Year Logistics

WCPSS Technology Return Guidance

Any student who has a WCPSS-issued hotspot must return it to their school by the end of the school year. Hotspots will be disabled after the last day of school.  West Millbrook will collect hotspots at the front office, June 7th, 8th, and 9th 8:30am -2:00pm.

Students who have a WCPSS-issued Chromebook and will be attending a WCPSS school next year will keep their Chromebook through the transition to the 2021-22 school year. Students are not required to return their Chromebooks to their school at the end of this school year, even if they are transferring or advancing to another WCPSS school. Students who are graduating or leaving WCPSS are required to return all devices to their school on or before their last day.
