Here are this week’s announcements:

 

PACK DAY is Wednesday, October 23rd.  Students sign up for activities in AllTimely.  The last day to sign up for activities is Monday, October 21st.

 

Agribusiness Academy needs 3 judges for virtual interviews on October 30th from 10:45am - 12:10pm. Sign up here.

 

BIMAS-2 Screening: All parents, please review the attached letter about the upcoming WCPSS universal screener of social, emotional, and behavioral health.  If you wish to opt-out your student from the screening, return the attached opt-out form to Student Services by Monday, 10/21/24

 

Business Alliance needs parent and community volunteers/donations for a variety of Career Development events that are being held throughout the fall & spring semesters at HHS. Your participation is welcome at one or several events to support student development. Sign up here.

 

Credit by Demonstrated Mastery - (CDM) is an opportunity for students to earn a course credit by demonstrating knowledge and skills in that specific content area.  Initial applications will be accepted October 14 - December 20.  Review information here for more details, application instructions, and contact information for questions.

 

Fair Entry:  We are proud of the combined efforts of our horticulture, carpentry, apparel, and art students.  About 50 students contributed to a magical Rapunzel entry at the State Fair in the garden competition!  If you get to the NC State Fair, please be sure to go by and see it.

Wake Tech Dual Enrollment (Career and College Promise) for Spring 2025 is open for new and current CCP students.  Information about the program and next steps can be found here.  Be sure to review Heritage HS specific information/action steps here.

Sophomore Specific Information

Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference (HOBY) school nomination forms opened 9/23. They are due Nov. 4 by 2:30pm.  Those interested should apply via this  nomination form.   Students need to submit the school's nomination form, and a team will review and select a school representative for the HOBY Conference in June 2025. 

Please visit the Sophomore website for important sophomore-related information and timeline of sophomore activities.  Stay tuned for updates on the NC School of Science & Math information session.

The PreACT will be administered to all current 10th grade students on Wednesday, November 13th, at 7:25 am. Students do not have to pre-register. Please contact Ms. Rupert at krupert@wcpss.net if you have questions or concerns. Learn more about the PreACT here.

 

Senior Specific InformationLink to Senior Page

College Application Week is next week (October 21-27). Counselors will be available in the media center all day, every day to assist with ALL parts of the application - getting started, finishing up, writing essays, completing the Residency Determination Services (RDS) form, etc. Many schools will waive application fees. Wake Tech will also be here to help on Tuesday from 9am-1pm. Students can sign up through their All Timely account. More details found on the Senior Page.
