Hello Huskies,

Monday, September 25 is a teacher workday, so there is no school for students.

The process to enroll in Driver’s Education classes has changed.  Learn more about the changes and how to enroll here.

The eighth annual HBCU Experience College Fair will be held TOMORROW, September 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the IBM RTP Education Center.  View more information and how to register here.

The Wake County College Fair, sponsored by CACRAO (Carolinas Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), will be on Sunday, September 24, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the McKimmon Center at NC State.  Colleges and Universities from all over the southeastern United States will be in attendance.  View more information and how to register here.

If your 9th-11th grade student registered to take the PSAT on October 10, they will have a PSAT pre-administration session on Tuesday, September 26.  Teachers have a list of students that registered.  Students MUST bring their WCPSS issued laptop.

Heritage High School is offering the S.O.S. Signs of Suicide Prevention Program to all 9th graders who are currently enrolled in Healthful Living and a "refresher course" to all 12th graders who are currently enrolled in English 4/AP English Literature starting Thursday, October 13 and running through November. If you do NOT wish your child to participate in the S.O.S. program in school, please contact your child’s Healthful Living or English teacher by Monday, October 2. If we do not hear back from you, we will assume that your child has permission to participate in this program.

If your 9th-11th grade student missed picture day on Sept. 8, we will have make-ups/retakes on Tuesday, October 16.

Senior Specific Information

Seniors who were absent for the makeup portraits on September 8 should contact Prestige Portraits and schedule a portrait session prior to December 8.  Any photos taken after this date aren’t guaranteed a spot in the yearbook.  Contact Prestige at (800) 343-5735 or online here.

Access the September Scholarship bulletin here.  Many scholarships have early October deadlines.

Senior Conferences are well underway.  Seniors are encouraged to bring their completed senior info sheets and updated resumes to their meetings.  All of our seniors will receive individual planning time with their counselor to accomplish necessary tasks for post high school transition.  Seniors do not need to sign up for a meeting.  Counselors work with teachers to coordinate meeting time during class.
