Hello Huskies,

 

We want to partner with you to support your student’s success.  Be sure to check your student's grades and attendance in PowerSchool weekly.  If you need access to PowerSchool, please go here for the application and next steps for access.

 

The process to enroll in Driver’s Education classes has changed.  Learn more about the changes and how to enroll here.

 

The eighth annual HBCU Experience College Fair will be held on September 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the IBM RTP Education Center.  View more information and how to register here.

 

The Wake County College Fair, sponsored by CACRAO (Carolinas Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), will be on Sunday, September 24 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the McKimmon Center at NC State.  Colleges and Universities from all over the southeastern United States will be in attendance.  View more information and how to register here.

 

Sophomores and Juniors participated in grade level meetings with our counselors on Tuesday, September 12.  They were informed of critical information to support their success in high school and planning for post high school.  Sophomore information can be accessed here and Junior information can be found here.

Freshmen Specific Information

Dr. Tate is meeting with ninth grade students in small groups throughout September during 2nd period.  These “Locker Chats” are a way for students to be introduced to their grade level counselor, talk about academic success in high school, and learn information regarding Heritage supports and resources.

 

Senior Specific Information

On Tuesday, September 12, seniors participated in Senior Orientation during 2nd period.  Students learned critical information about senior year success and action items for achieving post high school goals.  View information here.

 

Access the September Scholarship bulletin here.  Many scholarships have early October deadlines.

 

Senior Conferences are well underway.  Seniors are encouraged to bring their completed senior info sheets and updated resumes to their meetings.  All of our seniors will receive individual planning time with their counselor to accomplish necessary tasks for post high school transition.  Seniors do not need to sign up for a meeting.  Counselors work with teachers to coordinate meeting time during class.
