Hello Huskies,

There are no extensions.

Join us on campus on Tuesday, September 12, for Meet the Teacher Night.  Doors open at 5:45 pm.  This is your opportunity to meet face to face with your child’s teachers and learn more about the courses they are taking this semester.  Learn more by reviewing the agenda here.

Tuesday, 9/12, is our first Pack Day of the year.  For those that do not know what Pack Day is simply click the link for information (Pack Day Parent Info).  It is important for students to be in attendance on Pack Days.   These days provide an opportunity for students to participate in different activities outside of normal instruction.  Our first Pack Day will have all grade levels meeting with counselors in the auditorium to receive important information specific to their grade level.  While no new content is taught on these days, teachers do assign work that builds on previous concepts or leads into new standards.  If a student is out on these days it counts as an absence, and for seniors does count towards exam exemptions.  If you have any questions email our Assistant Principal over Pack Days Eric Betheil at ebetheil@wcpss.net.

Freshmen Specific Information

Dr. Tate will begin meeting with ninth grade students in small groups next week during second period classes.  These “Locker Chats” are a way for students to be introduced to their grade level counselor, talk about academic success in high school, and learn information regarding Heritage supports and resources.

Senior Specific Information

If you missed Senior Night on August 24, access slides here.

Access the September Scholarship bulletin here.  Many scholarships have early October deadlines.

Tuesday, September 12, seniors will participate in Senior Orientation during second period.  Students will learn critical information about senior year success and action items for achieving post high school goals.

Counselors have begun Senior Conferences.  Seniors are encouraged to bring their completed senior info sheets and updated resumes to their meetings.  100% of our seniors will receive individual planning time with their counselor to accomplish necessary tasks for post high school transition.  Seniors do not need to sign up for a meeting.  Counselors work with teachers to coordinate meeting time during class.
