Hello Huskies,

We are busy preparing for the start of the 2023-2024 school year, and we are excited for another school year.  In the coming weeks, access important start of school information from the main page of our website: https://www.wcpss.net/HeritageHS.   Please spend some time previewing all information and taking action where needed.  Links will continue to be added and updated as we get closer to the start of school.

PowerSchool will open for students to view tentative schedules on Wednesday, August 16.  Please disregard any schedule information you may currently see in the PowerSchool app.  Final schedules are distributed during Husky Headquarters (homeroom) on the first day of school.  Course correction information and instructions will be included in the start of school information links.

If you do not plan to return to Heritage High School this fall, please begin withdrawal process by calling 919-570-5600, ext. 20699.

HHS is now offering SchoolCash Online as its preferred method of payment for all school fees, including but not limited to parking and lunch passes.  You are now able to register and pay by visiting https://wcpss.schoolcashonline.com/

Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to submit parking applications now until August 7 at 2:00 pm. Off campus lunch forms are also available.  This requires parent/guardian permission.  Submit these forms to the main office any weekday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

All students participating in the Career and College Promise dual enrollment courses for this fall semester should have already provided a copy of their community college schedule and WCPSS Dual Enrollment form to lweaver2@wcpss.net.  Students: be sure to check your WCPSS email for any communication as there may be a conflict with our bell schedule or additional clarification is needed.

Mark your calendar for the upcoming events:

Important Senior Specific Information:

North Carolina state immunization law requires that all students are up to date with immunizations by the first day of school.  For us, this is August 28.   There are no extensions for this date.  Seniors are now required to have the meningococcal vaccine.  Also, for Seniors a 2nd meningococcal vaccine may be required for students by 17 years of age or entering 12th grade. Please consult with your doctor to see if you meet this requirement. You are encouraged to immediately check with your doctor to ensure your child is up to date and provide the school with an updated copy of the shot record.  If you do not have a healthcare provider, you can call 919-562-6300 to schedule an appointment at the Health and Human Services Northern Regional Center.  Do not delay in providing this information to our school.  You can email the records to pjenks@wcpss.net, fax to 919-670-4212, or drop off records in the main office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Seniors may still submit Reduced Course Load Applications and Midyear Graduation Applications.  Both applications are accessible here.  This is an extension of the original deadline.  All applications should be submitted by Friday, August 25.  Submit applications via email to Ms. Weaver at lweaver2@wcpss.net or drop off in the front office, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Seniors are reminded to complete the task of getting your senior portrait for the yearbook.  Go here to book online or call 1-800-343-5735. This is a busy time for Prestige.  Continue to call if there are no appointments available.

Warm regards,

Scott Lyons
