School Safety Update

Posted by Scott Lyons on 5/4/2023 3:00:00 PM

Hello Huskies,

All students are safe. To keep you informed, we would like to let you know that we are aware of a threat posted on social media mentioning violence against a school. Our school is not specifically named in this threat.

After learning about the threat, school administration immediately contacted WCPSS Security and law enforcement who are currently investigating. As a precaution, there will be additional law enforcement on campus tomorrow.

Please know that posting threats on social media is a serious offense. Anyone caught doing so could face criminal charges, in addition to disciplinary action in accordance with WCPSS policies.

The best means to keep schools safe is to maintain healthy and open relationships between adults and children at all times. Please help us remind students that they have an obligation to bring information about situations that cause them concern to adults at the school so that we can respond quickly and appropriately to protect their safety.

Please know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students. Students and parents may also report any suspicious activity to our anonymous tip line: (919) 856-1911.

Thank you for your continued support of our school.

Sincerely,

Scott Lyons

Principal
