Hello Huskies,

We are excited about this upcoming school year.  The first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year is Monday, August 23.  Classes start at 7:25 am.  Access important start of school information from the main page of our website- https://www.wcpss.net/HeritageHS.   Please spend some time previewing all information and taking action where needed.  Links are continuing to be added and updated.

PowerSchool is open for students to view tentative schedules.  Final schedules are distributed during advisory on the first day of school.  Final schedules for Virtual Academy students will be accessible in PowerSchool on the first day of school. Course correction information and instructions on how to request a course correction are included in the start of school information links.   A few reminders:  All course corrections should be sent to heritagehsschedule@wcpss.net.  If you attempt to email a counselor, it will be rerouted.  Duplicate requests do not decrease time waiting for a response.  Please remember to offer an extra bit of patience to our staff as we are working through end of summer changes and accommodating schedules for virtual and on-site learning students.

WCPSS technology pick up for students that don't already have a WCPSS device will be Thursday, August 19th from 12pm-3pm and Friday, August 20th from 9am-3pm.  If in-person learning students are unable to pick up on these days, they can see Ms. Davis during their lunch in the Commons starting on Monday, August 23rd.  Students participating in the Virtual Academy that are unable to pick up on the 19th or 20th should contact Ms. Davis at edavis7@wcpss.net or 919-570-5600 ext. 20685.

All students participating in the Career and College Promise dual enrollment courses for this fall semester should provide a copy of their community college schedule and WCPSS Dual Enrollment form to lweaver2@wcpss.net to have their HHS schedule adjusted.  Students: be sure to check your WCPSS email for any communication if there may be a conflict with our bell schedule or additional clarification is needed.

Seniors that missed Senior Orientation on August 11th may access information on the HHS Senior Webpage.  Seniors may still submit Reduced Course load Applications and Midyear Graduation Applications.  Both applications are accessible on the senior page of the website.  This is an extension of the original deadline.  All requests should be submitted by August 20.

Seniors are reminded to complete the task of getting your senior portrait for the yearbook.  Go to https://local.prestigeportraits.com/nc/morrisville/951-aviation-parkway.html or call (919) 377-0026. This is a busy time for Prestige.  Continue to call if there are no appointments available.

North Carolina state immunization law requires that all students, including those participating in the virtual academy, are up to date with immunizations by the first day of school.  For us, this is August 23.   There are no extensions for this date.  Seniors are now required to have the meningococcal vaccine.  Also, for Seniors a 2nd meningococcal vaccine may be required for students by 17 years of age or entering 12th grade. Please consult with your doctor to see if you meet this requirement. You are encouraged to immediately check with your doctor to ensure your child is up to date and provide the school with an updated copy of the shot record.  If you do not have a healthcare provider, you can call 919-562-6300 to schedule an appointment at the Health and Human Services Northern Regional Center.  Please do not delay in providing this information to our school.  You can email the records to pjenks@wcpss.net, fax to 919-670-4212, or drop off records in the main office, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm.
