Principal Message to Grades 9-11

Posted by Scott Lyons on 6/26/2020 9:15:00 AM

Hello, Huskies,

Credit recovery summer school begins July 7 and will operate virtually.  Applications are still being accepted.  If your child did not earn a credit in a core course (English, Math, Science, Social Studies), you can access the application from the academic page of the website, under the “Summer School” tab.  Completed applications can be returned directly via email to kferrell@wcpss.net or faxed to 919-670-4212.

Report cards are being mailed by request only this year.  If you would like a final copy of your child’s report card, please call 919-570-5600 and leave a message in the general mailbox.  You can also send an email request to hhs-grades@wcpss.net.

Several features in PowerSchool will be disabled beginning today throughout the summer as we prepare for the upcoming school year.  We will let you know when the features have been restored.

AP exam scores will be released beginning July 15.  Students have until June 30 to verify all account information, especially email and HHS school code (344118) to ensure access to scores.

Due to the extended Stage 2 phase of COVID-19 management, HHS will no longer be able to host the ACT exam administration in July.  If your child has registered for the July ACT, please wait to receive an official email directly from ACT for options concerning July testing.

Students planning to take CCP courses in the fall semester are reminded to email a copy of the schedule to dcwilliams@wcpss.net.

We will continue to issue Driver’s Eligibility Certificates following district guidelines.  Instructions are posted under the remote learning tab of our school website.  To start the process, you must first forward the confirmation email of the DMV appointment to dcwilliams@wcpss.net.

You can access any updates regarding the start of school via our school website and periodic principal messages throughout the summer.  You’re encouraged to check the website weekly.  At present, district leadership continues to discuss options and is awaiting information from the state level to further prepare.

Please remember, our building remains closed until further notice.  If you need assistance, please leave a message at our main number, 919-570-5600.

Warm regards,

Scott Lyons
