Principal's Weekly Message to Seniors

Posted by Scott Lyons on 5/29/2020 12:20:00 PM

Hello, Seniors and Families,

It was great to see many of you at the senior parade this past Tuesday.  We enjoyed getting the opportunity to celebrate our seniors.

There will be a brief virtual graduation meeting on Tuesday, June 2 by alpha groups at 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm.  The access links were sent via email to parent addresses and will be sent to seniors via their Remind text system.  We will cover details about the Husky Graduate Walk and answer questions.  Initial information has been posted on the senior page of the website and is still accessible.  Click on the graduation tab for details.

The senior page of the website is now updated with the remaining campus events for seniors to manage needs for closing out for the school year.  This includes makeup opportunities for those who did not receive yard signs, honor stoles, cords, graduation orders or yearbooks.  Seniors who still need to return textbooks can do so on Thursday, June 4 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.  Please continue to revisit the senior page for up to date information.

In lieu of Senior Awards Night, a special Senior Awards video is scheduled for release on June 8.  Award recipients will be invited to campus to pick up certificates and other award items on June 9 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.  Parents and guardians will receive communication via email in advance if the student will be featured in the video and has any items for pick up.

Message from the Wake Weekly – The Deadline is Today:

My name is Shawn Taylor, I’m the editor of the Wake Weekly newspaper.  In years past, we’ve published a special graduation edition of our newspaper where we list all the names of every graduating senior in our area. This year we wanted to do something special for the class of 2020.   In the June 18th edition of The Wake Weekly will we publish not just names but also photos and messages from family members of graduating seniors in our area. We’re looking for parents and families to submit these photos and messages to us. This is a free service — we want these graduates to be recognized in their local paper.  Families wishing to participate should fill out a form.  The form is available at https://wakeweekly.com/wake-graduation. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 29.

Warm regards,

Scott Lyons
