PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK

The Adams Elementary Parent/Student handbook has been updated for the 2022/23 School Year.   Our handbook contains all the information you need to know around important topics such as attendance, homework, and volunteers.   The handbook can be located at any time on the Adams Elementary website under the parents tab.  You can also view the handbook at   https://www.wcpss.net/domain/2176

TITLE 1 INFORMATION

Adams Elementary has been designated a Title 1 school for the 2022-23 school year.  This designation provides the school with extra federal funding to support family engagement, staffing, and providing teachers with needed resources.   You can view information regarding Title 1 as well as the Adams Elementary family engagement policy and the home-school compact at https://www.wcpss.net/domain/4011   There is a link provided on this page to offer feedback and suggestions on how Adams Elementary can better serve its families.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT

Adams Elementary School Improvement Team meets monthly to discuss our progress on goals related to academic achievement, family engagement, among many other areas.   We are seeking a parent volunteer to be part of this team and offer their perspective on how Adams is doing, and where we could improve.  If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to our Instructional Facilitator Ms. Hansbrough at dhansbrough@wcpss.net

 

JOIN THE PTA

The Adams Elementary PTA provides our school with a number of resources that directly impact students and teachers.   The PTA provided teacher grants, supports after school clubs, and has helped transform a number of spaces including the Dream Lab, Music room, and Art room.   Please consider joining the PTA at  MemberHub

 

GO, PLAY, SAVE

The GoPlaySave Fundraiser is officially underway, and it's super simple.   These coupon books are available in book form or in a mobile APP version.   Adams PTA receives a large portion of the sales from every book.  This fundraiser helps support after school club materials, teacher grants, and many other programs that impact our school, students, and teachers.   

 

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

There are many ways to stay updated on bus changes, delays, as well as arrival and departure times.   One way to keep updated is to follow our bus Twitter account.  @Adamsbusinfo   If you do not have a twitter account, don’t worry as you can view Twitter updates on the Adams homepage  www.wcpss.net/adamses.

You can also download the Here Comes the Bus App.  www.wcpss.net/herecomesthebus   You will need your child’s WCPSS ID number and the following district code: 67500.   This APP will allow you to follow where your child’s bus is along their route.

 

CAFETERIA

               K-5 Breakfast $1.50  Lunch $3.00

The cafeteria has resumed charging students for meals as of July 1st this year.  

Families can apply for free or reduced-price meals by visiting  www.MySchoolApps.com.

Please allow 10 business days for processing. 

With a MySchool Bucks account paying for school meals is easy. Go to www.MySchoolBucks.com or call (855) 832-5226 to enroll. You'll need your child's NCWISE ID number, available in your registration materials or at your school. Once your account is established you may:

• Securely deposit funds to your child's account

• Check balances

• Set spending limits

MANUAL PARA PADRES Y ESTUDIANTES

El manual para padres y estudiantes ha sido actualizado para el año escolar 2022/2023. El manual contiene información importante sobre la asistencia escolar, tareas y ser voluntario. INFORMACIÓN DEL TÍTULO 1

La escuela elemental Adams ha sido designada bajo el título 1 para el año escolar 2022-23. UNIRSE AL PTA

El PTA provee a la escuela Adams con recursos que impactan directamente a los estudiantes y profesores. El  PTA provee préstamos para los maestros, ayuda con los clubs después de escuela, y ha ayudado con cambios en las aulas de computación, música y arte. VAYA, JUEGUE, AHORRE

La recaudación de fondos de GoPlaySave es super simple.  Los cupones pueden ser en libro o en versión de aplicación en el teléfono. El PTA de la escuela recibe una gran cantidad de las ventas del libro. Esta recaudación de fondos ayuda con los materiales de los clubs, préstamos para maestros, u otros programas que impactan a la escuela, estudiantes y maestros. 

 

INFORMACIÓN DE TRANSPORTE

Hay muchas maneras de mantenerse actualizados con cualquier cambio sobre los autobuses escolares, tardanzas, cuando llegan a la escuela y se van. Una forma es usando la cuenta de twitter  @Adamsbusinfo. Si no tiene cuenta, no se preocupe puede acceder por medio de la página principal de Adams  www.wcpss.net/adamses.

También puede descargar la aplicación Aquí viene el bus en .  www.wcpss.net/herecomesthebus, va a necesitar el número del estudiante y el código del distrito: 67500. Esta aplicación le permitirá ver dónde viene el bus escolar.

 

CAFETERIA

               K-5 Desayunos $1.50  y Almuerzos $3.00

La cafetería  comenzará a cobrar la comida a partir del 1 de julio de este año.  

Las familias pueden llenar la solicitud para comida gratis o reducida en  www.MySchoolApps.com. El proceso dura como 10 días hábiles. 

 

Es fácil pagar la comida de su hijo(a) usando la cuenta MySchool Bucks, usando www.MySchoolBucks.com o llame al  (855) 832-5226 para registrarse. Usted va a necesitar el número del estudiante. Cuando su cuenta esté activa, usted puede:

 

• Poner fondos seguramente en la cuenta de su hijo(a)

• Chequear los balances

• Poner límites de compras en la cuenta
