Patsy Elrod
Principal
Following in the footsteps of her mother, Mrs. Elrod has enjoyed a successful teaching career for more than 12 years at the elementary level. During that time, she was recognized as a semi-finalist for Teacher of the Year (out of a pool of 400+ candidates).
Her educational training includes a B.A. degree in Psychology from East Carolina University; M.Ed degree in Elementary Education from Campbell University; and a M.S.A. degree in School Administration from NC State University. Mrs. Elrod has received advanced educational training in supporting students identified as academically-intellectually gifted, multilingual, and exceptional learners. With a desire to improve the educational outcome for more students, Mrs. Elrod entered the field of school administration where she has served for the past 6 ½ years. From 2021-2024, she served as the Assistant Principal at A.B. Combs Magnet Elementary School where she worked alongside the principal to create a nurturing, yet challenging learning environment for all students. The note below from a second grade A.B. As the newly appointed Principal of Adams Elementary School, Mrs. Elrod is proud to be an AVIATOR!!!
