1st- 5th-grade students will need to walk themselves to class. There will be adults helping all through the building. Parents will not be allowed to walk to classes during this time. Kindergarten families may walk to class on the Staggered Entry Day and on 9/6/22. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep morning arrival safe and efficient.
Early Release Day is Friday, September 2nd.
WCPSS has created 6 Early Release days for this school year. This means we will be getting out of school at 1:45 instead of 3:45. Please make sure you have a plan for these days and let the teacher know. If you need child care there will be an opportunity to sign up at a cost, please call the front office.
Starting the School Year Parent Cheat Sheet:
Medication
We will be receiving medication starting during Meet the Teacher. Please make sure you have your signed 1702 form when you bring in your child's medication. We are unable to take medication(s) without this form signed by the doctor.
Transportation
Walkers
Families can only walk to school if they have been assigned walker status by WCPSS. Families who are walking students to school may NOT park on Pond Street. In the 22-23 school year, you will be directed to carpool and will NOT be allowed to drop off.
Buses
For families who use the bus service, please visit the WCPSS website for 22-23 bus information. You will receive route information on August 19th via email. Here is the link https://www.wcpss.net/busrider
Carpool
Carpool families must use the carpool lane, no students may be picked up or dropped off in any other areas on campus. Carpool starts at 8:45 for drop off and pick-up starts at 3:45. All families will be assigned a carpool number. Please help your student memorize this number. You MUST have a carpool tag or we will ask to see your ID. Please hang the tag in your window daily. This is a change and will hopefully speed up carpool.
Meal Information for the 22-23 School Year

TalkingPoints
Our classroom teachers will be utilizing TalkingPoints this year as the main tool for teacher-parent communication. Here is a brief overview of the tool.
Please take a moment to download the app and follow this guideline on how to set up your account.
Parents can also change the language on TalkingPoint. Follow this guide to learn how to change the language.
Register to Volunteer
Volunteers play an important role in our school. We are grateful to parents and community members who contribute their time and talents to supporting our students. In order to chaperone on field trips or work with students in small groups, you must be registered as a WCPSS volunteer. We ask all families who will be in our school to please register. This can be done by coming to school all summer between 9-2:00 to sign up. If you signed up last year, you will not have to do it again for the 22-23 school year. Please take the time to do this before school starts.
Sign- Up for Before and Afterschool for the 22-23 School Year
Please complete this form if you are interested in Before and After-School Care for next year. They have not yet shared the rates for next year. They will have a registration fee of $15.00, but we are not collecting that money yet.
