    Good evening Briarcliff families,

This is Mrs. Raiford with your weekend announcements. Over the past year, I switched to an online newsletter format in the hopes that it would allow greater access for families to have school information on their phones through email and texts. Based on feedback from families, they would prefer to receive the school calendar on paper so it is easy to post for all members of their family.

We will be sending the March calendar home this week and families will receive the calendar before the first day of each month. I will continue to post the dates on the front of our webpage and post the newsletter as well in case you need access remotely.

    Good evening Briarcliff Bulldogs,

This is Mrs. Raiford with your weekend announcements. Thank you to our wonderful PTA and and our entire Briarcliff community for supporting our teachers.

I have a couple of safety reminders for families this week. The front entrance of the school is designated for Day Care vans in the morning. Families are not to use that entrance for drop off until after 8:25 when carpool has shut down. We had a close call on Friday and I want to keep all of our children and staff safe.

There are rarely lines in carpool in the morning due to the length of time for arrival.

    Good evening Briarcliff families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. As we start this week, we want to send a couple of reminders as the weather is cold. Recess and cold weather: Students will have recess daily in temperature above 32 degrees including the windchill. Please make sure your child has a coat or wears multiple layers if needed.

Flu and cold season is here! Please do your part by keeping your child home when they are sick. Below is an excerpt from the WCPSS website.

    Flu, Colds and Viruses

    • When your child is sick

The best thing you can do is to keep your children home when sick. This will help stop the spread of illness to other children and teachers. Keep them home when they show any of these symptoms:

      • fever of 100 degrees F or higher
      • nausea or vomiting
      • severe headache
      • diarrhea
      • red, watery eyes with yellow drainage
      • undiagnosed rash

Children should stay home until they have been naturally without fever for at least 24 hours.

Please do not give children fever-reducing medication and then send them to school.

If you are called to pick up a sick child at school, please come quickly. If you know your child has been exposed to someone diagnosed with the flu virus, call your doctor immediately to find out what to do.

State law (Garrett's Law) requires us to provide you with information about meningococcal meningitisinfluenza (flu), and human papillomavirus (HPV) and the vaccines that protect against these diseases.
