INFORMATION
What is Pack Day?
Pack Days were implemented during the 22-23 school year to provide students with opportunities to participate in a variety of activities that include enrichment,a variety of school clubs, cultural events and other special events and informational sessions. These days provide opportunities for participation in different clubs and activities as well as expose students to what some of our clubs and activities are doing. Some of these opportunities may not be available to all of our students if offered only after school.
Activities could include meetings with grade levels and counselors, club meetings, college information sessions, performances by our arts department, intervention, cultural activities, different tournaments set up by clubs and classes such as our Sports Management class, and much much more.
Pack Days are regularly scheduled school days with different activities offered to students that they can sign up for and attend through each period of the day. Students will have the opportunity to sign up for activities during Husky Headquarters at least a week in advance.
Students are encouraged to use this time to meet with counselors, college advisors, attend cultural festivals, and participate in activities that focus on their wellness.
Why should students attend
While no new content will be taught on Pack Days as the focus will be intervention and enrichment of content, each teacher will have the autonomy to decide how best to support their students during their class time. With no new content being provided on these days, teachers can give new assignments that build on previous concepts that were taught. Students are responsible for any assignments that are due/given on Pack Days, and these assignments will be posted for students who are attending Pack Day activities to complete.
Pack Day will take place 4 times a semester, occurring once per month.
How do students sign up for these events?
At least one week prior to each Pack Day, activities will be opened up in AllTimely for students to sign up for. If students are interested in attending the activity they will need to sign up ahead of time. Once sign ups close, teachers will get a list of students who are attending and a students pass will be his/her AllTimely calendar, whether it is on the phone or your computer. Students will not be able to go to events unless they are on the list and show their calendar.
Once again these days are for students and teachers to provide and have access to activities in class and out of class that they may not normally have access to. Teachers will provide opportunities to attend activities and clubs that normally may be after school. These days will be what we as a school make of them.
