WECHS Principal's Weekly Message 12/30/2022
Happy Friday!
We made it! Happy end of the semester, and hoping everyone has had a restful holiday and is looking forward to 2023!
WECHS offices will be closed from Thursday, December 22, through Monday, January 2nd. Most staff will return on Tuesday, January 3, and the PHS office staff will return on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Report Cards will be distributed in January. High school grades should be visible in PowerSchool. College grades in WTCC Blackboard.
The First Day of School for the Second Semester is Thursday, January 5, 2023.
WTCC classes resume with a new semester on Thursday, January 5th.
WECHS staff will be on the north campus Tuesday, January 3rd, and Wednesday, January 4th, to distribute spring semester textbooks. Students will also receive their high school class schedule (AA and HS Seminar) when they pick up their textbooks.
Please use this form (Spring 2023 Schedule/Textbook Pick Up) to schedule a time Tuesday (1/3) and Wednesday (1/4) to complete these important tasks before the new semester begins. It is always hectic the first couple of days of a new semester, so our time is limited to giving out textbooks. If you cannot pick up your textbooks and review your schedule on Tuesday or Wednesday, please respond by email (shennings@wcpss.net) so that you do not begin the semester without books or with the wrong schedule.
PHS Spring Semester Meet the Teacher: On January 19, 2023, at 6 p.m. will be Meet the Teacher Night on the PHS campus. We will also be presenting the Road to Associates program that evening for families and students to learn about how students will earn the associate's degree and the other health sciences certificates and degrees. Mark your calendars now!
PTSA will also host their first in-person meeting this evening at Meet the Teacher Night.

Class of 2024 Senior Trip (non-school sponsored)
Senior class of 2024 trip. It is an amazing opportunity for seniors.
The trip is an 11-day trip to Tanzania (travel days included) planned by Explorica. It would be non-school sponsored and scheduled for spring break or summer 2024.
It is a volunteer-based trip where students volunteer in local villages, teaching children, building parks, and bringing freshwater access. At the end of the trip, there would be a traditional dinner and wildlife safari excursion. This trip allows students to become active global citizens, experience foreign cultures like never before, and have the experience of a lifetime.
It would be an amazing way to end our time at WECHS. My mother is committed to coordinating in chaperoning the trip. There is a link below with more information.
