WECHS Principal's Weekly Message 8/5/2022

Happy Friday!

We’re back! We had a great time meeting our newest students at camp yesterday. The first day of school for the 9th and 10th graders is Monday, August 8. Everyone is excited about the new school year.

As a reminder, WCPSS does have a Dress Code, and we ask that you support us. We are on open campuses with college faculty from whom the students will need recommendations and other health sciences opportunities. Dressing appropriately is key. We ask that students are covered from chest to mid (middle of) thigh with clothing that is not see-through. The WCPSS policy is linked above.

NC Legislators passed a law last year that requires all secondary schools across the state to inform students in grades 6-12 each year about important resources related to child abuse and neglect. It also requires schools to post this information in each middle and high school.

The attached document contains important information and resources available in our community.

WCPSS is committed to the safety and well-being of children in our community.  Please contact your school counselor if you have any questions about this information.
