Hello WECHS families! Did you know there is a critical blood supply shortage in the US? The WECHS American Red Cross Club (ARCC) Blood Drive will conclude this Saturday, April 23rd. Please consider donating. We would also appreciate your willingness to encourage friends and family to donate at one of the ARC designated sites. The donation sites are in Raleigh and Cary. You must be at least 16 with parental permission to donate. We understand this time period corresponds with Ramadan. ARCC members have vouchers they are distributing. We are committed to including opportunities for all our WECHS students, their families and friends to participate in the blood drive. Due to fasting during Ramadan, we have determined it would be best to extend the window of time to donate; however, to request the voucher be submitted during the week of April 18th-23rd. See an ARCC member or Ms Hill for additional details. Thank you for your time and consideration.
The breakfast and lunch options in April are linked here.
All WCPSS school volunteers who wish to continue to volunteer in 2021-22 should go to any WCPSS school or work site and register through wcpss.net by selecting the Community tab, and then selecting Volunteer.

TESTING
PHS Final Exams
PHS high school final exams will be administered on May 19, 20, 23, and 24. Please do not plan to travel during these dates. Early testing requires submitting a request with supporting documentation to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for approval because North Carolina law requires that all final exams be administered in the last five days of the semester. Requests based on vacation travel are not granted by NCDPI.
Any student who scored not proficient on the EOC exam in the fall yet earned a passing grade in the class could be eligible for remediation and retest at the beginning of summer. More information coming soon. This will apply to the fall and spring high school EOC exams.
Wake Tech Final Exams
Wake Tech final exams are scheduled for May 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10. Please do not plan to travel during these dates. Additionally, students will return textbooks during exam week.

Important: All Students Will Receive Free School Meals For the 2021-22 School Year
Breakfast and lunch will be available at no cost to students for the 2021-22 school year. While the district may be able to offer free meals to all students, it is very important for eligible parents to complete a meal benefits application because this data enables schools to obtain funding to provide other important educational resources to benefit students. Other benefits that are issued directly to families that have applied and are eligible for meal benefits may also be available (such as the P-EBT cash benefit). Parents can complete a meal benefits application online at myschoolapps.com. Paper applications also are available at all schools. More: www.wcpss.net/free-reduced-meals.
