Good evening everyone,

 

This is Dr. Jenkins for our Family Sunday huddle in English only. 

 

First, please know how much we loved having you in the building last week for Open House. Based on our count, we had at least 381 in attendance.  At our Teacher Workday Thursday, we spent some time reflecting as a whole staff on this year's format and the overall event and here's some comments of what was captured:

 

"Families were very invested, asking questions and wanting to know how their children were doing. Childcare was amazing as it allowed for some one: one connection time with parents. 

The parent mingling was a good opportunity for parents to informally talk to each other."  There were lots of dads there. In at least classrooms, there were only dads present. " Overall, anytime we're able to connect and share, we consider that a success so thanks again for your support. In case you missed OH, be sure to view the teacher's Power Point. 

 

At the end of this first nine weeks, we are going to send you a brief survey and we'll be asking you about your Open House experience. We look forward to receiving your feedback as well.

 

Families, are ready for some non-academic fun now? We are gearing up for our first Soccer Game at YMES and we can't wait to see the whole family there. The Book Fair will also be open before the soccer match and afterwards for some family shopping. Lastly, make sure you're practicing our new school song and also note that we'll be collecting items for those impacted by Hurricane Helene that night.

Soy la Dr. Jenkins para nuestra reunión familiar del domingo en inglés únicamente.

 

Primero, por favor, sepan cuánto nos encantó tenerlos en el edificio la semana pasada para la jornada de puertas abiertas. Según nuestro recuento, tuvimos al menos 381 asistentes. En nuestro día de trabajo para maestros del jueves, pasamos un tiempo reflexionando como personal completo sobre el formato de este año y el evento en general, y aquí hay algunos comentarios de lo que se captó:

 

"Las familias estaban muy involucradas, hacían preguntas y querían saber cómo les estaba yendo a sus hijos. El cuidado de niños fue increíble, ya que permitió un tiempo de conexión individual con los padres.

La reunión de padres fue una buena oportunidad para que los padres hablaran informalmente entre ellos". Había muchos papás allí. Al menos en las aulas, solo había papás presentes. "En general, cada vez que podemos conectarnos y compartir, lo consideramos un éxito, así que gracias de nuevo por su apoyo. En caso de que se haya perdido la jornada de puertas abiertas, asegúrese de ver la presentación en el Power Point del maestro.

 

Al final de estas primeras nueve semanas, le enviaremos una breve encuesta y le preguntaremos sobre su experiencia en la jornada de puertas abiertas. Esperamos recibir sus comentarios también.

 

Familias, ¿están listas para un poco de diversión no académica ahora? Nos estamos preparando para nuestro primer partido de fútbol en YMES y estamos ansiosos por ver a toda la familia allí. La Feria del Libro también estará abierta antes del partido de fútbol y después para algunas compras familiares. Por último, asegúrese de practicar nuestra nueva canción escolar y también tenga en cuenta que estaremos recolectando artículos para los afectados por el huracán Helene esa noche.
