Salamander News 10/21/2020 Updated

Salem Families,

I just found out that, while it was on the website, Sunday's message did not get sent out to parents like I thought. I am not sure if this was the result of something I did or a technology issue. Because of the late notice for our parent Q & A sessions today (English), I have scheduled an additional family Q & A session in English for Plan B families on Friday at 8:00 AM. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Because the message did not get sent out as planned, I have updated some of the information below. I am still trying to get a clear answer about whether November 3rd will be a standard remote learning day (like we've been doing) or an asynchronous remote learning day. We will continue to provide updates on remote learning days as we receive the information we have been seeking.

Sincerely,

Principal Evans

Returning to School Guide for Plan B Families
We are excited to start welcoming our Plan B students back to campus! Please click here to access the Salem Elementary Returning to School Guide for Plan B Families. A Google Slide presentation will open automatically. The presentation is long and very detailed, but we encourage you to read through everything carefully to ensure that your family has a successful transition back to school.

Question-and-Answer Sessions with Principal Evans
Mr. Evans will host multiple question-and-answer sessions for Plan B families returning to school in cohorts this semester. We ask that everyone read the Returning to School Guide for Plan B Families before asking questions in the Google Meet. We will direct families back to the guide as necessary out of respect for everyone's time. One session will be in Spanish. A maximum of 250 participants are allowed by Google in each meeting. We recommend joining the first English meeting if possible as the second English meeting may fill up.

This has been one of the more significant challenges for our administration. We appreciate your grace and patience. Teachers will have the option to hold a brief morning meeting at 9:15 on asynchronous learning days.
