    Recycle Club

Do you think GREEN? Are you in 5th grade? If you answered yes, then you may want to join our Recycle Club! This club takes on the job of collecting our recycled paper throughout the school; which is no small task! Students and teachers "Feed the Bin" daily with paper materials to be recycled, and the Recycle Team takes the next step by collecting the bins every Tuesday morning and emptying them into containers for pick up. Contact your fifth grade teacher if you are interested in being part of the Recycle Team!

    Salamanders on the Run

Salamanders on the Run is open to K-5 students and their families who would like to get moving and enjoy some sunshine Friday mornings before school. We will lace up to try to complete a Marathon by jogging 26.2 miles by the end of the school year. Students will walk, jog, or run around the track and collect tokens marking the distance completed. For every mile they run, students will receive a foot charm to add to their chain, and special charms at five-mile increments. When students reach a Marathon, we’ll celebrate! Salamanders on the Run will be going strong until June 29, so participants will have an opportunity to get moving, gain endurance, and go the distance! Go Salamanders! Run Club is currently full for the 2017-18 school year.

In order to apply, students had to answer questions about what it means to be a leader and get a teacher to recommend them for the team. Our student leaders are exemplary students who are role models for all other students in the school. They will be doing morning and afternoon jobs such as safety patrol, media helpers, art room helpers, tech helpers, emptying the classroom recycling bins, and even reading with younger students during breakfast.
