11-20-22 Weekly Principal’s Message

 

Students may earn high school credit for specified courses without spending a set number of hours taking the course in a classroom. Under the state’s Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) option, uniquely qualified students may “test out” or bypass a course if they have already mastered the content. The credit by demonstrated mastery request application is now available. Requests to participate in the CDM process are due no later than December 16th.   • Career and College Promise Registration Currently Underway\

Eligible students can participate in the Career and College Promise (CCP) dual enrollment program. Students have the opportunity to earn both  high school and college credit by taking tuition-free courses at Wake Tech or other community colleges. For more information, students can contact Mrs. Peasley jpeasley@wcpss.net or visit the Wake Tech CCP website. Interested students should begin by clicking the blue New CCP Students button and watching the short information video. 

  • If your student is absent, you do NOT need to call the school to report it. Send in a note when the student returns with the date(s) missed and the reason for the absence. Seniors, cap and gown orders should have been made by November 18. Orders can be placed at highschool.herffjones.com

 

  • Come Paint a Mural at CHS!

The PTSA is offering students the opportunity to work on Cary High's first ever campus mural! As crew members, students will learn from Sean Kernick, a renowned, local artist. He’ll be installing a mural starting the week of November 28th. No artistic experience is necessary! Students are limited to one slot each.   • No hay clases para los estudiantes de miércoles a viernes de esta semana en conmemoración del Día de Acción de Gracias.

  • Crédito por Dominio Demostrado

Los estudiantes pueden obtener crédito de escuela secundaria por cursos específicos sin pasar un número determinado de horas tomando el curso en un salón de clases. Bajo la opción de Crédito por Dominio Demostrado (CDM) del estado, los estudiantes calificados de manera única pueden "examinar" u omitir un curso si ya dominan el contenido.   • Registro de Promesa de Carrera y Universidad Actualmente en Proceso\
