  • Monday, May 2nd is a Teacher Workday.

  • The Cary High Drama Club will present “To Art and Beyond” in the Drama Classroom this Friday Night at 7 pm.  Tickets are sold at the door for $2.
  • There will be a PTSA Board Meeting on Wednesday, May 4th from 7-8 pm in the Main Office Career Center.
  • The Cary High PTSA will sponsor an Outdoor Movie Night on Saturday, May 14th in the Senior Parking Lot.  Gates will open at 8 pm and the movie will begin at 8:30 pm.  We will be showing “Juggle Cruise” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  Students and their family members are invited.  Cost is free.  Students should bring camping chairs or a blanket to sit on during the movie.  If it should rain, the movie will be moved into the Cary High Auditorium.  
  • The deadline to submit information about scholarship offers is Monday, May 16th. Scholarships can be reported via this form.  While we encourage students to continue submitting their scholarship offers through the end of the school year, information submitted after Monday, May 16th will not appear in the Class of 2022 Scholarship insert.  
  • ​The deadline for the Kassel A. Smit Make A Difference Scholarship has been extended until Friday, May 6, 2022.  Applications are available in the Student Services Office or in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom.
  • Six scholarships are available for students planning to attend a 2 year college or technical school. The Tom Kelly Scholarship and the Ramage Family Scholarship applications are available in the Student Services Office or in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom.
  • We are encouraging all juniors to take advantage of the CFNC (College Foundation of North Carolina) Next Step Program.  Students and parents can complete the CFNC Next Step Form to connect with NC colleges, complete up to 6 optional steps towards being prepared for the student's senior year and to assist Cary High with learning the plans and needs of our Class of 2023.
  • Ms. Waters (Financial Aid Counselor) will have limited virtual appointments available through May 30th on Mondays and Wednesdays for 9am-2pm.  If students or families need assistance completing the FAFSA, she is available to help!  Book online at https://calendly.com/swatersfinaid/30min or email her at swaters@wcpss.net
  • Attention Seniors! If you feel including your 3rd quarter grades will impact your weighted GPA and change your honor cord status, submit the form available in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom to have your GPA reviewed. The deadline to make this request is tomorrow.
  • The UNC System of four-year public colleges has decided to remain "test optional" through Fall 2024. That means that you are not required to send ACT or SAT scores as part of your admissions application (but you can send them if you feel that they could strengthen your application).   • Girls wrestling will become an official sport, with a girls wrestling state championship, during the 2023-2024 school year. Stop by Coach Tutterrow's room to find out how you can get started. Guys don't let that scare you, ask Coach about wrestling also.

  • Attention 9th graders!  Are you interested in design, engineering, computers, advanced manufacturing, or technology?  Would you like a learning environment that is collaborative and fun? Do you want to graduate confident and ready to succeed?  If so then you need to apply to Cary High’s new Academy of Technology and Advanced Manufacturing.  Apply online at the CHS website.  If you have questions or need help contact Mr. Evans in Room 2332 or via email.
  • The Cato College of Education at UNC Charlotte received a grant to host a free, on-campus event for high school juniors and seniors interested in the teaching profession. The event will allow aspiring teachers to experience a day in the life of a UNC Charlotte teacher candidate, discover paths to the classroom through UNC Charlotte’s nationally-ranked programs, and meet and talk with current UNC Charlotte students and faculty.  The deadline to register is Friday, May 14.  Register here.
  • NC TECH has opened the application for the 2022 Betsy Y. Justus Founders Scholarship. This scholarship supports young women in NC who are pursuing an academic and career path in the areas of tech and/or engineering. Applications will be accepted through May 31.   • The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship offers 100% fully-paid tuition scholarships to qualified applicants.  Earn your degree and lead the Marines upon graduation. See the attached flyer for general eligibility requirements and how to apply.
