10-11-21 Weekly Message
- It’s Homecoming Week and the Student Council has lots of activities planned for us to show off our school spirit.
- The first way that students can show their school spirit is by participating in our spirit themed days by dressing up. Tuesday - Early 2000s; Wednesday - Pink; Thursday - Country vs. Country Club; and Friday - Extreme Green & White
- We have a pep rally in the stadium to show our team how much we support them. It will be held at the end of school on Friday, October 15th. Students who wish to avoid the large crowd of the stadium will be allowed to remain in the media center.
- At 4:30 pm on Friday, we will have our annual Homecoming Parade from Ralph Drive and Jimmy Burns Dr. Hundreds of Cary High students and students from multiple feeder middle schools will march in our celebration. Parents, family, and friends are invited to line up along Walnut Street to watch the show.
- The Varsity Football Team will host Apex Friendship HS on Friday, October 15th at 7pm. During half-time we will crown our Homecoming Queen for 2021.
- Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 7-10 pm we will hold our Homecoming Dance on Cooper Field. It is CARY HS STUDENTS ONLY. Tickets are on sale at GoFan.co (not .com). Students will have to show their student ID before being allowed into the dance.
From Student Services:
- PSAT - The PSAT will be administered this Wednesday, October 13th to students who have previously registered. Students need to check their student email for information and testing locations. Testing locations will also be posted outside of the Student Services office on Tuesday. Students should report directly to their testing location on Wednesday morning. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45am and will conclude before lunch. Students should bring a calculator and multiple number 2 pencils. Please email Mrs. Peasley (jpeasley@wcpss.net) in Student Services with any questions.
- Governor's School - For Junior families, Governor's School applications will be available starting next week. This four-week, highly competitive summer program is open to Junior students interested in a number of academic subject areas as well as the arts. A few select music programs are also open to Sophomores. Academic nominees should have at least a 3.75 unweighted or weighted GPA. Arts nominees should have at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA. Interested students must attend an information session during Smart Lunch in Student Services this Thursday, October 14th to find out about eligibility requirements and the application process. - College Boot Camp - School counselors will be available on Tuesday and Thursday in the media center during lunch to assist students with college applications, essays, and other
- THIS WEEK - Career Connections: Join us on Thursday during lunch in room 2106 to meet the owner operators of Contender eSports. Contender eSports in Cary offers a fun, innovative, and educational approach to the gaming world. Their location serves as the premier eSports Gaming Center for the Triangle. If you are interested in gaming you don’t want to miss this opportunity meet and talk with Vinny and Caleb Smith. That’s Thursday, lunch, room 2106
