Happy Lunar New Year and welcome to a celebration of Black History Month in our school and community as we begin February. We are excited for the amazing learning that your students are doing in-person and online across our school! With ½ of our school year still ahead we look forward to a great spring of growth.

To prepare for the upcoming school year starting July 2022, Track Change Requests can be made until February 28 by in-person families with a current assignment who are interested in switching to a different track. Virtual Academy families are currently following the Track 4 calendar but do no have an assigned track and will need to be assigned to a track for 2022-2023 when returning to in-person learning. At this time, the school district will not host a Virtual Academy in the new school year.

Track Assignments will be e-mailed to all families by May 1.

Rising Kindergarten enrollment also continues—registration can be completed remotely at WCPSS Student Assignment 2022-2023 New Student Enrollment.

Track Change Request 2022-2023, Alston Ridge Elementary

Use this electronic form: Track Change Request 2022-2023 (https://forms.gle/ZYDKkRxUzAsWAH4N6) to submit your request or you may complete a paper form available in the front office at the school. Requests will not be prioritized on a first come, first served basis. Reasons for track change request are not a factor in determining approval. Due to current enrollment, state class size laws, and return for all students to in-person learning, there are limited opportunities for changes. Virtual Academy families should not complete this form. Virtual Academy students do not have a current Track Assignment and will be reassigned for the 2022-2023 to an available seat on Tracks 1-4.

Track Preference 2022-2023, current Virtual Academy students, Alston Ridge Elementary

All Virtual Academy families should provide rank-ordered Track Preference 2022-2023 (https://forms.gle/sKeSFMxoFgrtxiaQ7). Families who do not provide track preference will be assigned to an available track. As a part of the Virtual Academy agreement for 2021-2022, families gave up their previous track assignment and do not have a current track assignment while the Virtual Academy follows the Track 4 calendar. State class size laws and current enrollment limitations are likely to restrict the school's ability to provide choice in track assignment when returning to in-person learning. Requests will not be prioritized on a first come, first served basis. Reasons for track preference are not a factor in determining approval.
