Fuquay Varina Next Gen Entrepreneur Day

Calling all student entrepreneurs! The Next Gen Entrepreneur Day will be a designated signature event from the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce for our entrepreneurial youth; ages 7-17. These youth will have the opportunity to sell their product, or advertise their service. Awards will be given for excellence in customer service, stellar marketing, and also best business potential! We are currently gathering information to lead our coordination of this event. 25-26 Pre-K application is now available

Families of children who will be 4 years old by Aug. 31, 2025 can apply for pre-k services for next school year starting on January 13. The Wake Pre-K application will allow families to submit one application to determine their eligibility for one of three different services:

WCPSS Title I Pre-K, NC Pre-K, Telamon Head Start. Eligibility for the Title I program is based on academic need. Eligibility for NC Pre-K and Telamon Head Start is based on financial need. Applicants will be considered based on how well they fit the program criteria.

Applications are not first come, first served. The deadline to apply for a Wake County Public Schools Title I Pre-K is June 13. Learn more about the programs by clicking HERE.

AIG Testing Spring Opportunity

The window for 4th and 5th grade students for AIG testing will open soon.  We are accepting parent nominations until January 27, 2024.  Testing will begin on January 31, 2024 and will consist of the CogAT and IOWA.  We are looking for 95% or higher to qualify for AIG services in math and reading.  Please look at your child's CogAT, IOWA,  EOG scores, classroom grades,  and any other data from last year to make a nomination.  Be sure you ask your child's teacher if this type of differentiation is appropriate. We will meet with our committee to go over all of the nominations and decide if this type of testing is appropriate for your child. Shade structure for the K-2 playground

Our Boosterthon efforts are paying off and the new shade structure is being installed over the K-2 playground! Thank you to everyone who participated in our fundraiser!

The PTA is looking for volunteers! The PTA hosts events throughout the year, and there are so many ways to help make Banks a fun environment for everyone. We are a supportive, encouraging group of parents who provide support for teachers and students - through funding school supplies, providing teacher lunches, putting on large fall and spring parties, a gift drive, and any other program that will provide opportunities for ALL Banks students. Reflections art contest update- we have a winner!!!! Fifth grader Kinley Soltiz is the Wake County WINNER for her age group in the Dance category!! She's moving on to compete at the State competition! And in more awesome news, third grader Rebecca Robinson submitted a dance in the same age category, and received the Honorable Mention title - essentially getting 3rd place! Congratulations and good luck at the state level, Kinley!

La solicitud para Pre-K 25-26 ya está disponible

Las familias de niños que tendrán 4 años antes del 31 de agosto de 2025 pueden solicitar servicios de prekínder para el próximo año escolar a partir del 13 de enero. La solicitud Wake Pre-K permitirá a las familias enviar una solicitud para determinar su elegibilidad para una de tres servicios diferentes:

WCPSS Título I Pre-K, NC Pre-K, Telamon Head Start. La elegibilidad para el programa Título I se basa en la necesidad académica. Oportunidad de primavera para pruebas de AIG

La ventana para los estudiantes de 4to y 5to grado para las pruebas AIG se abrirá pronto.  Aceptamos nominaciones de padres hasta el 27 de enero de 2024. Las pruebas comenzarán el 31 de enero de 2024 y consistirán en CogAT e IOWA.  Buscamos que el 95% o más califiquen para los servicios de AIG en matemáticas y lectura.  Consulte los puntajes de CogAT, IOWA, EOG, las calificaciones en el aula y cualquier otro dato del año pasado de su hijo para hacer una nominación.  Asegúrese de preguntarle al maestro de su hijo si este tipo de diferenciación es apropiado. Nos reuniremos con nuestro comité para revisar todas las nominaciones y decidir si este tipo de prueba es apropiado para su hijo. Actualización del concurso de arte Reflections: ¡¡¡tenemos un ganador !!!! estudiante de quinto grado ¡Kinley Soltiz es la GANADORA del condado de Wake para su grupo de edad en la categoría de Danza! ¡Ella pasará a competir en la competencia estatal! Y en noticias más sorprendentes, Rebecca Robinson, estudiante de tercer grado, presentó un baile en la misma categoría de edad y recibió el título de Mención de Honor, ¡esencialmente obtuvo el tercer lugar! ¡Felicitaciones y buena suerte a nivel estatal, Kinley!
