Trailblazer Times 5/7/23
Happy Sunday, Trailblazers- I hope you had a great weekend!
Tuesday, May 9th is an Early Release Day
All students will be released at 1:45. If your student has a change of plan for dismissal, please contact the office. If you will be coming through carpool without a tag- please make sure to have your ID.
PTA spring fling
Mark your calendars for the PTA Spring Fling that will take place on the field on Friday, May 12th from 5:30-8:00. CLICK HERE to buy your wristbands for only $8.00 (price will be $10.00 at the door.) We will have food trucks (bring a blanket to picnic on), raffle baskets, games, face painting, a foam pit, and an opportunity to dunk some BRES staffers inside of a dunk tank!
If you are willing to serve as a volunteer- your family will receive 10 free raffle tickets! Please sign up to volunteer HERE
Increased law enforcement presence
The NC Department of Public Safety has directed all law enforcement officers in the state to increase their presence on school campuses. As a result, expect to see officers from various agencies driving through or parked in our school parking lot.
WCPSS parent survey
We would love your feedback to help us grow so please take this survey. The survey will be open until May 12th.
EOG proctors needed
EOG testing will be here before we know it (June 20, 21, 22) and we will need volunteers to assist with proctoring. Please review the available time slots and click on the box(es) to sign up. You may choose as many as you wish. Remember you MUST complete the required volunteer registration & background check in the office (and be approved) prior to testing. Email Mrs. Dana at email@example.com if you have questions concerning how to register for volunteering or to check your status.
If you have specific questions about the testing process or proctoring, please reach out to the Testing Coordinator, Mrs. Alford, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Intent to return
As we work towards hiring new staff for the 23-24 school year, we need to ensure that we have an accurate prediction of student enrollment numbers. If your child WILL NOT be returning to Banks Road next year, please let your teacher or our data manager Lora Blankenship (email@example.com) know ASAP. Thanks!
Additionally, if you will have a child turning 5 years old on or before August 31st, please go to https://www.wcpss.net/Domain/56 or contact data manager Lora Blankenship (firstname.lastname@example.org) for enrollment information.
Teacher appreciation week
Thank you so much for all the love and support you showed to the staff last week! We felt the love and appreciation and are truly grateful
We had several confirmed COVID cases last week. If your child tests positive they are to stay home for 5 days from the onset of symptoms. It is recommended that they wear a mask for 5 days upon returning to school.
