  • Readvolution

    For the third consecutive year, WCPSS will partner with the Carolina Hurricanes to bring READvolution to all of our elementary schools. This year, the READvolution time frame will be between Monday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Nov. 22. Students who log their reading hours and achieve the goal of reading 20 minutes per day throughout the time frame (for a total of 800 minutes) will receive TWO complimentary ticket vouchers to a Hurricanes home game.   • Schoolwide Math Night & Open House (Tracks 1 & 3)

    2nd Annual Schoolwide Math Night on September 5th, 6-7 pm is for all tracks followed by Open House sessions for Tracks 1 & 3 at 7:10 pm! RSVP at https://bit.ly/2Hbgt0z. We invite you and your Alston Ridge student (and any siblings) to attend and receive grade level information! Grade level teachers will discuss the meaning of that data and ways you can support your child at home with grade-specific strategies, skills, and standards. If you need childcare for younger siblings ages 2-5, RSVP by Friday, August 30th: we will have volunteers available in our Gym from 6:00-7:00. Additional information will be on our website, sent by your child’s teacher, and updated in their newsletter.

  • Here Comes the Bus! The App from WCPSS Transportation

    WCPSS Transportation uses an app for smartphones/devices to allow parents to track their assigned bus on its route. Download "Here Comes the Bus": from the App Store or Google Play. Register at https://bit.ly/2AuW9Sd with School Code 67500 and your child's Student ID.   • Before & After School Care Registration

    WCPSS Before School Care will provide 2019-2020 fee-based early-arrival care for students in Grades K-5 beginning at 7 AM. WCPSS After School Care provides fee-based, end-of-day care for students in Grades 3-5, and the YMCA provides fee-based end-of-day care for students in Grades K-2.   • After-School Programs (Community-Based)

    In addition to the school's Before School and After School programs, community-based programs offer fee-based afterschool programming for Alston Ridge students. Programs include the Alston Ridge Band, TGA Tennis and Golf, KidzArt and Young Rembrandts Drawing. Information about registration is available on each program's website. All students who participate dismiss directly to the private programs at the end of the school day, and parents are responsible for arranging pick-up and transportation home at the conclusion of program-days.

  • Volunteer in our School!

    Online volunteer registration can be completed during school hours at any Wake County Public School building. All returning volunteers must re-register prior to October 31st to ensure that there is no break in eligibility. Prospective volunteers will submit to a background check prior to approval by WCPSS to volunteer. Volunteer clearance may take 2-3 weeks for final approval before a volunteer is eligible.

  • Kindergarten Registration & Orientation

    For Rising Kindergarten families, information about Kindergarten readiness and starting school at Alston Ridge is available in the 2019-2020 Orientation Presentation (click "Read More" below for active link). Registration for the upcoming school year is open for kindergarten and for incoming students who will be in grades 1-5. Please register as soon as possible to be ready for the first day of school in July! Registration for 2019-2020 can be started online through the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment, and completed in-person from 10 AM-2 PM any time that school is in session.

  • School Messenger TXT/Email Messages

    The School Messenger phone message system used by WCPSS is expanding to include text messaging and e-mail. "Opt-In" to text messages when you receive a text. Or, you can simply opt-in to receive text messages by texting YES to the number 67587 now. The expanded service calls multiple phone numbers for all associated parents/guardians. You can choose how you would like to be contacted by using the new SchoolMessenger infoCenter website or infoCenter mobile app for Android and iOS. Review the Parents Guide to infoCenter (http://bit.ly/sm-infocenter) for instructions.
