The State of North Carolina requires additional vaccinations for 7th graders prior to the start of their 7th Grade year.
Vaccines required for teens and tweens by North Carolina law include:
- Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
- Meningococcal (meningitis)
This handout provides more information about the vaccinations.
What do you need to do?
If your student has already had the immunizations, we will only need a record of it submitted to the school. Parents will need to provide a copy of their student's immunization record. This can be submitted to:
Consuelo Cabrera, School Data Manager
ccabrera@wcpss.net
Phone: (919) 694-8960, x27686
Fax: (919) 589-6213, Attn: Ms. CabreraIf your student has not yet received the immunizations, please schedule an appointment to receive these prior to the first day of the 7th grade year. Appointments are also available at the Health Department.
State law requires that the school exclude students starting on the 30th day of school if an immunization record including this requirement is not submitted. Please help us to keep all students attending school daily!
