At Apex Friendship Middle, we value the connection between attending school regularly and being successful! Our school will work to support students in ways that are feasible when they must miss school. We welcome partnerships with parents to support that effort!
When my student is absent, what should I do?
Students are required to submit an Absence Report Form (or note) when they miss school in order to excuse that absence. The Absence Report Form can be submitted by (1) bringing the form to the attendance office, or (2) sending the form to email@example.com.
Per policy, absences can be excused for the following reasons:
- illness or injury
- a death in the family
- health care appointments
- court appearances
- religious observance
- natural disasters
- outside educational opportunities (prior approval is required using the Request for Absence for Educational Reasons form (English | Spanish)
Students should also communicate with their teachers about make-up work.
Please review the Attendance Quick Reference Guide chart for more information regarding absences and tardies, as it may answer your questions. Questions can also be shared with Mrs. Cabrera, our Data Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
