"Without music, life would be a mistake." -- Friedrich Nietzsche

Make no mistake, music is a-rocking and a-rolling, swinging and singing, beating and repeating here at Vance.

Hello Vance Panthers! I am thrilled to be a part of the Vance Elementary Family and excited to get acquainted with students, parents and staff. Here is a little information about me. I started singing as soon as I could speak and first sang in public at three years old. Boy, was I hooked! During elementary school I sang with the Kansas City Philharmonic Children’s Choir for several seasons and later performed in a professional production of Annie. I began piano lessons when I was nine years old. Along the way I experimented with other instruments - violin, flute and even tuba! I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Arkansas State University with a double major in voice and piano. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with the students here: tapping into their creativity, developing their music knowledge and skills, and helping them transfer that understanding to other academic areas. On a side note: I have 4 kids, 2 dogs and LOVE to hike and kayak, so if you’re at the park, keep your eyes open...You might see me on the trails!!
