Effective October 3, 2017, the Wake County Public School System Board of Education placed an enrollment cap on our school. Students with an address that is base assigned to our school will still begin the enrollment process with our data manager. Upon enrollment, we will determine if a seat is available at our school, or if you will need to be assigned to an Overflow School until a seat becomes available. District bus transportation is provided to all students assigned to an Overflow School. Thank you!
At Vance Elementary we value Good Character! Therefore, each month we focus on a different character trait and will recognize those students who exemplify these traits!
October 30-November 21 Character Trait: GOOD JUDGMENT
Good Judgment is choosing worthy goals, setting proper priorities, thinking through the consequences of your actions, and basing decisions on good sense.
Exercising good judgment is a learning process. Teaching students about good judgment is essential for effective leadership. It is important for students to recognize what is right and appropriate, so they are able to make well-informed, wise decisions. When one has developed the character trait of “good judgment” then the ability to choose worthy goals and set proper priorities becomes attainable, and this leads to a future filled with endless possibilities and opportunities!
Parents will learn the benefits of a growth mindset, how to encourage a growth mindset in students, and key resources to support their Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) student.
Application deadline for early college high schools, Wake Young Men's or Young Women's Leadership Academies or Crossroads FLEX is Friday, Dec. 1.
