Curriculum
AOIT's curricula enable learners to explore various aspects of IT, including Artificial Intelligence, coding, computer systems, graphic design, and video production. Students enrolled in AOIT can choose from the Design Track or the Computer Science Track. Our Design Track is ideal for students who enjoy digital media and content creation. Students acquire skills and certifications within the Design Track by utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite. More analytical students may be drawn to our Programming Track, where they can learn programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Java. The skills students learn in the Academy are transferable to any career field. Students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills through experiential learning opportunities.
The career-connected project-based learning experiences combine hands-on, real-world projects with career exploration and preparation. Learners actively work on projects relevant to their future careers while developing future-ready skills and knowledge in their chosen fields. Students collaborate with industry professionals or mentors who guide them in developing skills and provide feedback on their projects.
AOIT Theme 2025-2026: CTRL + ALT + DEL: Disrupt the System
This year, AOIT students are being called to think differently, reset outdated ways of doing things, and challenge the status quo. CTRL + ALT + DEL isn't just a keyboard shortcut; it's a mindset. It's about taking control, thinking alternatively, and deleting what no longer works. Each grade level will explore a unique focus that builds toward becoming bold, creative disruptors by senior year.
Grade Level Focus
- 9th Grade - Ignite Curiosity: Students will explore new ideas, ask big questions, and spark innovation through hands-on learning and collaboration. Curiosity becomes the engine for creativity.
- 10th Grade - Reimangine the System: Students will take a closer look at the surrounding systems; at school, in tech, and the world. They begin to imagine better ways forward. Design thinking and problem-solving take center stage.
- 11th Grade - This Is Not a Test: Students will engage in real-world projects, internships, and leadership roles that go beyond traditional learning. This year is about taking action, applying knowledge, and making an impact.
- 12th Grade - Disruptors Playbook: Students will step into leadership as innovators, changemakers, and visionaries. With skills and experience built over four years, seniors will drive projects that challenge norms and shape what's next.
