Elaine Hofmann - Principal

Elaine Hofmann is from Upstate New York, she graduated from SUNY Fredonia and relocated immediately to Raleigh, NC. She started teaching Social Studies at Millbrook High School. After graduating from NC State with her Master's in School Administration, she went to Cary High School as an Assistant Principal. From there, she became Principal of Salem Middle School. Being a part of the Apex Community has been such a joy, it truly is the PEAK of good living and learning! When she's not at school, Mrs. Hofmann enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running and reading.

Willis Brown - Assistant Principal

Willis Brown began his teaching career at Enloe High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management at Shaw University, Master of Health at Strayer University, and Master of School Administration at North Carolina Central University. Mr. Brown joined the Apex family in 2021. Outside of school, Mr. Brown enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and watching all sports.

Andrew Hill - Assistant Principal

Andrew Hill began his teaching career as a Computer Skills teacher at Martin Magnet Middle School in 2005. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. In 2011, he completed his Master of Business Education from East Carolina University. After completing his School Administration certification through Appalachian State University he accepted the position of Instructional Resource Teacher at Martin. In 2014, Mr. Hill was named Assistant Principal at Brier Creek Elementary School. He is excited to have the opportunity to join the Apex family as Assistant Principal. Mr. Hill enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. He is a passionate Michigan State fan, and loves playing sports at every opportunity.

Jeannette Hill - Assistant Principal

Jeannette Hill joined the Apex High School staff in July 2004. Previously, she taught in Kannapolis and Charlotte. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of School Administration degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to cheering for the Cougars, Mrs. Hill enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Allison Johnson - Assistant Principal

Allison Johnson began her teaching career in Durham County in 2000. During her 16-year tenure there, she taught elementary and middle school. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, K-9 certifications in Language Arts and Math, and a Master of School Administration, all from North Carolina Central University. She has a Micro-Credential in Educational Leadership and Equity Training from East Carolina University and is currently working on her EdD in Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is excited about being a member of the Apex High School Administrative Team member.
Ms. Johnson is an avid reader and enjoys listening to audible books and listening to music. When time permits, she loves to travel and spend time with her mom.

Alicia Stevenson - Assistant Principal

Alicia Stevenson joined Apex High School in September 2019. She began her teaching career as a high school English teacher in Guilford County. Mrs. Stevenson has spent the last sixteen years in Durham Public Schools as a teacher, instructional facilitator, and assistant principal. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a concentration in Secondary English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Masters of School Administration from North Carolina State. A native of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Mrs. Stevenson loves visiting the beach. She enjoys singing in her church worship team, crafting, and most importantly spending time with her husband and two boys.

David Zies - Assistant Principal

David Zies became Assistant Principal at Apex High School in 2015. He began his teaching career in Los Angeles where he worked with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In 2009 he joined Apex High School as an Autism Support Teacher. Mr. Zies earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona and his Master of School Administration from North Carolina State University. Outside of school, Mr. Zies enjoys spending time with his family, running, surfing, and following the Arizona Wildcats.
