Hi! My name is Ashley Birchall and I am so excited to be a part of the Oakview community as the ECS teacher!

 

I received a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Queens College, in New York City.  I have a dual Master's degree in childhood education and childhood special education from Hunter College in Manhattan, New York.  As a forever learner, I went back to obtain an additional Master's degree in early childhood special education with an advanced certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) also from Hunter College.  Most recently, I obtained my certification to be a Wilson ® Dyslexia Practitioner!    

 

This year marks my 16th year teaching, my 3rd year at Oakview! 

 

I was born and raised in New York, spent my entire life there. However,  I became part of the mass migration to the south post-pandemic.  

 

When I'm not molding young minds, I love to stay active, whether it is a run (or walk) around the neighborhood, weightlifting, skiing, tennis or a barre class!  I am also an avid reader, and love to sit in our screened in porch and get lost in a book! My husband, John, and our two daughters Charli and Cora, who are both here at Oakview, love to travel to England every December to spend time with my husband’s family.
