I am one of the Blended Pre-K teachers at Oakview Elementary. The past two years I was the Part-Day Structured Teacher at Oakview.  I have a passion for teaching young children, and I bring over 25 years of teaching experience.  I began my career teaching at a camp for differently abled children and adults.  I completed my internship at the Emory Autism Resource Center. My first classroom was a self-contained kindergarten in Cobb County, GA.  While my husband was pursuing his master's degree, I taught in Auburn City Schools as a Resource teacher.  I found my way back to a self-contained classroom at Davis Drive Elementary when we relocated to North Carolina.  When my children were young, I taught online classes for GCF and for 8 years, I was the Pre-K teacher at Cary Presbyterian Preschool. I am Conscious Discipline trained and utilize this in the classroom along with the Preschool Pyramid Model. I am also a certified yoga instructor and currently teach at Yoga Garden Pittsboro. 

I am originally from Hawaii and have lived in Alaska, California, Mississippi, Georgia, Ohio, and Alabama.  My husband and I moved to North Carolina in 2001 and we love being close to the mountains and the beaches.  We have 4 children. I enjoy yoga, reading, and gardening.  My happy place is on my paddle board!
