Mrs. Tierney is grateful and honored to return to Apex Friendship Middle School as the 7th Grade Assistant Principal. Mrs. Tierney helped to open AFMS back in 2018 as the Administrative Intern and is looking forward to being a part of the Charger family once again! 

Mrs. Tierney has been in Wake County Public Schools for 19 years and is dedicated to the success of all students by making school a place of belonging where children want to be each and every day.

Throughout her career, she has gained experience in teaching and leading at multiple middle schools in the district and has a special place in her heart for middle school-aged students.

Mrs. Tierney deeply values relationships with the students, staff and families in the AFMS community and time with her husband and two children. This year she will be married to her amazing husband, Patrick, for 15 years. Their children are now 10 and 13 and are the light of her life. In her free time, you can find Mrs. Tierney with her family, reading or walking her dog, Finn!

This school year will be a memorable one and Mrs. Tierney is committed to ensuring AFMS is a positive and happy place to be!
