Thank you for your attention to the information in the sections below. We strive to keep our students safe at all times. Thank you for assisting our efforts to provide a safe and smooth arrival/dismissal process.
General Arrival Information:School hours are 9:15 AM- 3:45 PM. School opens at 8:45 AM, when students may report to their classrooms. Students may not be dropped off at school before 8:45 AM unless they are enrolled in the Before School Program. Students who are not enrolled in the Before School program should remain in their cars with their parents until 8:45 AM.Breakfast begins at 8:45 AM. Students should be seated in their classrooms by 9:10 AM to be ready to learn. Students who arrive after 9:15 AM are tardy. After 9:15 AM parents should bring their child to the office to check in and receive an admittance slip. Late arrival puts your child at a disadvantage because they miss classroom instruction. Teachers lose time from scheduled learning activities when they stop to repeat instructions for children who are late. We appreciate your efforts in ensuring that your child arrives at school on time.Students who arrive on buses will be allowed off buses at 8:45 AM.
General Dismissal Information:School dismisses at 3:45 PM each day except on Early Release Days. Unless we receive written instructions from you to the contrary, we will always send a child home his/her usual way. Any transportation changes must be requested in writing by a parent or legal guardian. Please send these notes in with your child in the morning. If you have an emergency transportation change that you can't request in writing, please call the school office prior to 2:30 PM so we can notify your child's teacher. Please do NOT send an e-mail to the teacher during the school day to request a transportation change. He or she might not read your email until after dismissal. If a student is to be picked up by someone other than the parent, please send a note to the teacher with your child in the morning stating who will pick your child up. For your child's safety, if we are not familiar with the person who you send to pick up your child, we will ask for identification. Please note:
We will dismiss carpool students when the first bell rings at 3:40 PM. Parks and Rec after school students will be released when the second bell rings at 3:45 PM. Buses are announced on the intercom and can be seen on the live Google Document in all classrooms. After 2:45 PM each afternoon teachers will be able to view transportation changes called in during the day.
- If you find it necessary to check your child out of school early, please do so before 3:15 PM. Because of the large number of students we have preparing for dismissal each day we are unable to accommodate requests for early check-out after 3:15 PM. You must show a photo id when you arrive to check your child out of school. For the safety of all our students, our office staff will ask to see an id before releasing a child to anyone.
- Picking up in the carpool lane: Please have your carpool number on display in your car. Stay single file in the right lane and proceed to the designated pick-up area. Be courteous, follow the directions of adults on duty, and do not attempt to drive around or pass cars.
- Picking up by older siblings: In order for an older sibling to pick a child up from school, he or she must be older than 14, have a photo ID, and must be listed on your child's locator card as having permission to pick up your child.
We are unable to accommodate requests from parents to have their child ride a bus home with another student. We cannot send children home on buses other than the one to which they are assigned. They can’t take the bus home “with a friend.” If a child is going to another student’s home after school, they must carpool and we must have written permission from both parents in order to accommodate the request.
